We recognize that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children, and we exist to give them assistance in whatever schooling option they choose.
According to the home education regulations found in Alberta's School Act, parents have the right to provide a home-based learning program for their child or children. However, they must register with a school or registering authority.
Our home schooling program offers parents support if they take the option to home school their children and register through us.
Families who choose to home educate their children are able to receive some financial reimbursement for the costs they incur in providing learning materials to their children. The amount is determined by the Provincial government from year to year.
Our teacher facilitators are able to help parents design and build their own approach for home schooling and will then assist them in selecting the best resources to support their choices.
We also offer a blended program that is available to home schooling families in St Albert and surrounding areas.
Finally, we will organize excursions and events during the school year to bring our school families together in times of fellowship and exchange.
